Eun-Soo Lim (first name pronounced as “En-Sue”) is Senior Program Manager with the Sustainability Program Office at Stanford Health Care, located in California. With over 18 years of experience in sustainability, Eun-Soo has a diverse background that spans climate change and waste reduction, across multiple sectors, including public, consulting, environmental services, non-profit, and now healthcare.

Eun-Soo’s current role at Stanford Health Care involves facilitating, catalyzing, and collaborating on sustainability initiatives across departments, stakeholders, and external entities, ensuring that sustainability is integrated into both the daily operations and long-term strategic planning of the organization. Eun-Soo co-leads the Technology & Digital Solutions Work Group, focusing on integrating sustainability into technology projects and operations. Additionally, she co-leads the Sustainable Transportation Work Group, aimed at achieving carbon-neutral transportation solutions through reduction in single-occupancy vehicle employee commutes and expansion of EV infrastructure. Eun-Soo also manages initiatives to decarbonize clinical operations, including optimizing preference card utilization to reduce waste in operating rooms.

Before joining Stanford Health Care, while at the County of San Mateo in northern California, Eun-Soo spearheaded the development and adoption of the Disposable Food Service Ware Ordinance, transitioning the County away from single-use plastic foodware. She successfully facilitated the Ordinance’s adoption in 17 out of 20 partner cities in the county and launched an education & outreach program to support over 3,400 impacted restaurants and food facilities, while also designing an enforcement program for the Ordinance.

Eun-Soo holds a Bachelors in Environmental Science from Barnard College and a Masters in Climate and Society from Columbia University.
