Jens Wandel is currently President of the United Nations Association, Denmark and member of Sustainableit.org Board. He was until recently Acting Executive Director at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) (2022-2023) and has also served for three years as Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on UN Reforms (2018-2021). Both roles were at the level of Under Secretary General. Before this, he was Director of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Bureau for Management Services at the level of Assistant Secretary General.

Jens Wandel has extensive executive-level experience working with international organizations with focus on management, adaptive change and sustainable development, as well as a vast knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Leave No-one Behind agenda.

A Danish national, he holds a master’s degree in political science and government from Aarhus University, Denmark.
